The Lone Tree Lions football team will be looking to return to winning form this evening.

The Lions (4-3 overall; 3-2 in district) will travel to Danville for a district matchup with the Bears (2-5 overall; 1-4 in district). The Lions will look to put last week’s 26-21 loss to Pekin behind them. The Lions enter the week in the fourth spot in the district standings, and face the bottom two teams in the district the next two weeks. Offensively, senior quarterback Nick Viner has 888 total offensive yards and has scored 11 touchdowns. Junior running back Jared Hudson leads the Lions with 743 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. Defensively, senior Matt Wieland has a team leading 14 tackles for loss, four of those tackles being sacks.

Danville will look to end their current two game losing streak, but will need to play better offensively to make that happen. In four of the Bear’s five losses this season, the team has scored seven or less points.
