The Golden Hawks fell in the first round of the playoffs last night. The was game heard on AM1380, FM102.5, and on KCIIradio.com.
The night didn’t go quite as well as the Golden Hawks would of hoped on the road against the Albia Blue Demons.
To start the game the Blue Demons would get a sack, a strip, and a fumble recovery to go into the end zone to make the score 7-0. Then with the Golden Hawks going three and out they punted the ball and the Blue Demons took the punt return for a touchdown to make the score 14-0
The offense was nearly unstoppable when they got the ball scoring a touchdown on nearly every offensive position.
The Golden Hawks did get a score in the second quarter on a fourth down when Ryan Cortum found Colin Weber in the endzone. They also got a two point conversion to make the score 28-8 at that point. But the Blue Demons would score three more touchdowns on offense to make the score 49-8 at halftime.
Neither team scored in the second half, making the final score 49-8 Albia. The Golden Hawks season ends 4-7 on the season.
