The season opener for muzzleloader deer hunting is just a few days away. The season will run Saturday through Sunday, October 19th. Iowa Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Wes Gould says this season is growing in popularity, and the deer tags issued for it sellout fast. This year’s quota is 7,500. Gould adds bucks are essentially nocturnal this time of year. Deer will become more active when their breeding season starts later this fall.
