Two Southeast Iowa Super Conference members with long winning streaks met Friday evening.

The 4-2 Lone Tree Lions welcomed the 6-0 Pekin Panthers for a district showdown. With a win, the Lions would be tied with Pekin for the lead in the district. The back and forth contest was decided in the final minute of the game. Pekin sophomore Trever Northup scored on a quarterback sneak to lift the Panthers to a 26-21 victory over Lone Tree.

The Lions were led on offense by junior Jared Hudson, who rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns in the setback. The win improves Pekin to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in district play. The loss drops Lone Tree to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in district play. Lone Tree returns to action this Friday in a district matchup with the Danville Bears.
