A grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held this week at the new Kirkwood Washington Regional Center. Thursday’s event will include remarks from the president and demonstrations in various classrooms. Director of the center, Tera Pickens explains the formal remarks begin at 3:30 p.m. and will also include the local trustee representative Karen Gorham as well as Jim Dunn the local landowner.

Pickens adds the public will be able to meet staff and faculty as well as demonstrations, including the virtual welder. Formal remarks begin at 3:30 p.m. Thursday and the event will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. for everyone in the community.
