A Washington County city will be considered for a Drake University and Iowa Economic Development pilot program. Riverside has submitted their application ahead of the deadline on Friday.

The Downtown Economic Development Pilot Program will involve students from multiple departments at Drake visiting a small rural community to offer assistance and solutions to problems in their downtown area. According to Riverside City Administrator Rusty Rogerson, the projects students will work on range from market research to community branding.

The cities selected will be announced during the third week of November. For more information, click here.
