Nearly all of the corn in Southeast Iowa is mature and 21 percent has been harvested for grain, as of this week. In total, 90 percent of Iowa’s corn acreage is mature which is four days behind the five-year average. And corn harvest is nearly three weeks behind normal across the state, as corn harvest for Iowa has only reached 10 percent. Part of the delay is due to the moisture content of corn at harvest being at 23 percent.

Across the Hawkeye state 25 percent of corn is in excellent condition, 51 percent is good and 18 percent is fair.
