For the last three weeks, the Sigourney-Keota football team has ran over their competition. After losing to Eddyville-Blakesburg 14-6 on October 3rd, the Cobras have since averaged 53 points and 421 yards rushing each game. Highlighting the Cobras’ rushing attack has been junior Peyton Crawford. Over the past three games, Crawford has collected 850 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. Sigourney-Keota’s recent rushing success helped the Cobras win their final three games and clinching a spot in the postseason.

However, yards and points will be at a premium this evening for Sigourney-Keota as they travel to West Branch for their first round matchup with the West Branch Bears. The Bears come into the playoffs undefeated and have held their past three opponents scoreless. The Bears have given up 51 total points through nine games this season, with an average of less than six points given up per game.

The game between Sigourney-Keota and West Branch kicks off at 7 p.m. at West Branch High School. Listen to KCII tomorrow for results from the game.
