With mostly clear skies in the forecast, the area should have a good view of the Orionid meteor shower. According to information from NASA, the Orionids peaked this morning, and will still be visible before dawn tomorrow. This comes just days before the partial solar eclipse that will occur before sunset Thursday. The eclipse will begin at 4:30 in the afternoon for southeast Iowa. The peak of the partial eclipse will occur at around 5:40.
