An intensive historical and architectural survey is being conducted in one of Washington’s residential neighborhoods. The Washington Historic Preservation Commission announced they have received a Historic Resource Development Program grant to do the project. Rebecca Lawin McCarley of SPARK Consulting, Davenport, has been hired to coordinate the survey effort. Approximately 140 properties on 16 blocks are included. The area is west of downtown Washington and stretches from Avenue B to Sunset Park along West Washington, West Main and West Jefferson. The survey and research of the properties will help determine possible historic or architectural significance which may place a property or area on the National Register of Historic Places.
