Volunteers are needed to help improve a home in the City of Washington on Saturday. Margie Roth, Washington County liaison with Habitat for Humanity, explains the project is putting new siding on a home for an elderly woman who gives much of her time at the Washington Chamber of Commerce. The project is at 515 West Jefferson Street and volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Roth adds this project is the first rehabilitation project in Washington and will help the woman live in her home longer independently. No construction experience is necessary just a willingness to learn. Also, volunteers should wear closed toed shoes and may want to bring work gloves. Snacks and treats are also welcomed at the site.
