Many voters in southeast Iowa are casting their ballots early at auditors offices, or through the mail. In Jefferson County, 2,300 absentee ballots have been requested. Johnson County has issued 2,500. Two-thousand sixty-nine voters in Henry County have requested absentee ballots. One-thousand ballots have been issued in Louisa County so far, and Keokuk County has had nearly 970 requests. According to John Dees at the Johnson County Auditors Office, some early voters are forgetting to sign their ballots. He says they’re contacting those voters to notify them of the error.
