The WACO Warriors’ football team will honor their senior players this evening.

The Warriors (1-6 overall; 1-4 in district) will welcome the district leaders in the Pekin Panthers (7-0 overall; 5-0 in district) to Wayland for a contest. Seven seniors will play their final home game for the Warriors. Among those is running back Tucker Janecek, who last week eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing for the season. Janecek has rushed for 1,064 yards and 12 touchdowns with two games remaining in the season.

The seven seniors include Josiah Anderson, Michael LaBarbara, Tucker Janecek, Josh Shumaker, Seth Pategas, Ben Herzinger, and Braden Blake.

Pekin is one of the best offensive teams in the Class A this season. The Panthers’ 316 points are third best in Class A, while their 2823 total offensive yards are the fifth best mark in Class A.
