A Southeast Iowa Super Conference running back passed a major season milestone on Friday.

The 4-2 Winfield-Mount Union Wolves celebrated Senior Night against the 1-5 WACO Warriors. The game proved to be a defensive battle with Winfield-Mount Union edging WACO 20-12.

Despite the loss, it was another productive night for Warrior senior Tucker Janecek. Janecek had 163 yards rushing on 25 attempts and scored one touchdown in the setback.The effort pushed his season rushing total to 1,073. Wolves’ junior quarterback Kolt Rossiter gained 81 total yards and scored two rushing touchdowns in the victory.

The win improves Winfield-Mount Union to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in district play. The loss drops WACO to 1-6 overall, and 1-4 inside their district. This week Winfield-Mount Union will travel to Van Buren for a district matchup with Warriors. WACO will celebrate Senior Night this Friday as the Warriors welcome the Pekin Panthers to town for a district matchup.
