Bed bugs are a problem in Washington County and are found across the state. Washington County Environmental Health administrator Jennine Wolf is holding an educational session about the pests to help educate area citizens on October 29th.

Wolf explains bed bugs are about the size of a woodtick and can be found in anything from used furniture, to theater seats, to church pews. She states some signs that bed bugs may be in a home include seeing blood spots on your sheets without noticing anything on your body or seeing small black dots near mattresses. Wolf adds education is the best way to prevent getting bed bugs. Bed bugs do not carry diseases but bites can become infected.
