The Washington Community School Board discussed beginning a superintendent search at last night’s meeting. In early December, the board will start advertising the position and between December 22nd and 30th reference checks and applications will be reviewed. Dr. Jorgensen stated a district this size averages 20 to 25 applicants. When the final candidates are selected in mid-January, they will be invited to interview on site with administrators, teachers, staff, board members and community members.

According to the search timeline, a new superintendent will be selected by the end of January and will assume the role July 1st. The district will advertise the position at $175,000 with single benefits, $5,000 in moving allowance if moving to the district, and four weeks of vacation.
