The City of Washington’s leaf vacuum will start picking up leaves later this month. J.J. Bell, Washington Maintenance and Construction Superintendent, announced the leaf vac will start Monday, October 20th, in the northwest quadrant of the city and then move in a counter-clockwise direction.

Residents are reminded to place leaf piles in the terrace area between sidewalks and streets or on the side of the ditch on seal coat streets. Leaves should not be placed in the street or the center of ditches as this can create drainage problems and traffic hazards. The leaf vacuum will run through November 26th.
