Winfield-Mount Union’s long awaited return to the postseason was short lived.The Wolves traveled to Maquoketa to face the undefeated Maquoketa Valley Wildcats.  

Winfield-Mount Union got a significant upgrade in point production from their offense but the Wolves couldn’t stop the Wildcats’s rushing attack as they fell 49-20. Winfield-Mount Union came into the playoffs on a two game losing streak, scoring a total of six points in those eight quarters.

Maquoketa Valley improves to 10-0 on the season and will host Denver in the second round of the playoffs on Monday. Winfield-Mount Union ends the season 5-5.
