A suspect in a residential burglary that occurred this spring is in custody. Thirty-five-year-old Justin Joseph Halter of Iowa City was arrested during a traffic stop this month. He was wanted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for 1st degree burglary, assault – display of weapon and criminal mischief.

According to Washington County Investigator Chad Ellis, the burglary occurred several months ago in Wellman, and was followed by a lengthy investigation that led them to issue an arrest warrant for Halter.  Ellis says the items stolen during the burglary are case sensitive.
