A Burlington woman was transported by AirCare from an accident in Henry County Sunday near New London. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the two-vehicle wreck happened at the intersection of Highway 34 and 267th Street, or Henry-Des Moines Avenue. Rachel Fowler, 30 years-old of Burlington, was operating a 2007 Kia and was traveling southbound on 267th Street, when she failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign at the intersection and pulled out in front of a van.

The van, driven by 24-year-old Seth Alcorn of Monmouth, Illinois, was struck and came to rest in the median. Fowler’s Kia was forced across the median and the eastbound lanes of Highway 34 into the south ditch. Fowler was transported by AirCare to the University of Iowa hospitals.
