Over half of the corn in Southeast Iowa has been harvested as of this week, according to the Iowa Crop Progress and Condition Report. Across Iowa the corn harvest is four days behind last year and 10 days behind the five-year average with 61 percent of the acreage harvested. In our corner of the state, harvest is on par with all of Iowa with 60 percent harvested for grain.

Moisture content of corn in the Hawkeye State is estimated at 18 percent. At this time 23 percent of corn is excellent, 53 percent is good and 19 percent is fair.
