Iowa’s influenza activity remains low and is considered sporadic at this time. The State Hygienic Laboratory confirmed three Flu A cases and one Flu B case in the state this week as well as 40 cases of rhinovirus or enterovirus reported, with one influenza-associated hospitalization.

The flu has been reported in Southeast Iowa in Washington, Henry and Johnson counties. Annual flu vaccinations are recommended and people are reminded to practice good hand hygiene and stay home when sick.
