Washington Public Library is offering an alternative way for patrons to pay off fines. The Food for Fines program is being held throughout the month of November. Leann Kunz with the library explains patrons can bring in non-perishable food items and each item will pay for 50 cents of a fine. The food items will then be donated to a local food pantry at the end of the month.

The Teen Advisory Board is also collecting food. Patrons can purchase used books in exchange for non-perishable food items. For more information about the library’s programs listen to today’s Washington Page.
