A home donated to Habitat for Humanity is being moved to a vacant lot in Kalona. Mark Patton, Executive Director of Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity, gave a presentation about their plans at the city council’s last meeting. The council committed to covering 3/4s of the cost of the lot at 121 A Avenue using money from the city’s TIF fund.

The four bedroom home is located in rural Tiffin. Patton says they hope to get the foundation poured in the next month, so they can relocate the house in the latter half of December. He adds they will renovate the home over the winter, and finish outside work in the spring.
