A $10.5 million project in Washington received a six-figure financial boost Wednesday night from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation at their 2014 fall grant presentation. President of the Foundation Patty Koller announced a $750,000 grant to Wesley Retirement Services Halcyon House in Washington.

Earlier this month the Halcyon House announced the project, which will develop a 24-hour care household for up to 18 people with mid- to late-stage dementia. The state has approved the project, ensuring there is a demand for such care in the area. The project will also include replacing Avalon House and other renovations.

Wednesday evening the foundation presented over $1.7 million in grants to 38 projects. For photos from the event visit KCII Radio’s Facebook page.
