A week from today jingle bells will be heard in downtown Washington as area runners take part in the annual Jingle Bell 5k Fun Run. The event is used as a fundraiser with proceeds going to the Washington Track Club and PAWS & More Animal Shelter in Washington and food donations are given to KCII’s Caring Christmas food drive which helps restock area food pantries. Steve Roth, organizer of the event, explains this year funds raised will go to help light the downtown during the holidays.

Those who would like to have a t-shirt and jingle bells must register before Tuesday. Also, costumes are encouraged and there is an ugliest sweater contest. For a registration form click the image above and there is day of registration next Saturday in downtown Washington at 8 a.m.
