A Washington man was injured in a hunting accident this week in Washington County. According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Tuesday, 23-year-old Andrew Brock dropped the .22 caliber pistol he was carrying, causing the gun to discharge into his thigh where it lodged.

Brock was squirrel hunting at Clemons Creek Wildlife and Recreation area west of Washington when the accident happened at approximately 5 p.m. Brock did not seek medical assistance for the non-life threatening injury.
