The third and final reading of the Rental Housing Regulatory and Inspection Program Chapter 147 for the City of Washington was tabled last night. The Washington City Council tabled the reading of the ordinance at the request of Councilman Bob Shepherd who would like to further consider inspections at the time a property changes occupants instead of the three year cycle. Also, an amendment to have registration due May 1st was accepted.

In other business, the council approved moving the site for the Reserves at Briarwood project from Monroe Street to West Tyler Street near the Washington High School. The project would have 32 low to moderate income apartments. For further information about the project click here.
