The decision to cancel or delay school is made the morning of at Mid-Prairie School District. According to Superintendent Mark Schneider, he wakes up early to check out road conditions when snow or ice is in the forecast. He drives on paved and gravel roads maintained by the county, as well as Highway 1 and 22. If it’s determined that a delay or cancellation is necessary, he lets the public know by 6am.
