Thirty-one area adults will be on the stage tonight for the Sound of Washington’s fall concert. The adult special needs choir is performing at the Washington Community Center with a variety of songs. Director of the group, Amy Drayfahl explains the theme of tonight’s show is a radio show, so the choir will tune in to various genres for songs including gospel, rock and roll, and others. The on-stage DJ for tonight’s show is KCII’s own Joe Nichols, who will be switching the radio dials for the choir.

Drayfahl states she has seen the participants grow during rehearsals – some of the participants are non-verbal but will dance to the music or sing a word or two.

The show starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Wahington Community Center and there is no admission charge but a free-will offering will be collected.
