While temperatures are expected to reach 50 degrees today, during the overnights this weekend the mercury will fall below freezing. Amber Talbot, Director of PAWS & More animal shelter in Washington, is again reminding people to take care of outdoor animals. She suggests having heated water dishes so pets always have access to drinking water. And kennels should be insulated and long stemmed grasses are best for animals to bed down in. Talbot adds, it is best to keep pets at home in cold temperatures, as cars get cold quickly.

Also, this weekend is the final weekend in adopt a senior pet month. At this time PAWS & More has reduced adoption fees for senior animals over five years old.
