The unemployment rate in Washington County dropped slightly from 3.3 percent in September to 3.1 percent in October, with approximately 200 more people employed in the county. The state’s unemployment rate went from 4.6 percent to 4.5 percent, with 76,800 people unemployed in Iowa in October. Other area counties that had slight decreases include: Henry, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk and Louisa counties.
