The Washington Demons’ volleyball team had three players named to the all-conference team, picked by the coaches of the Southeast Conference.The group included a second team selection and two players were named honorable mentions.

Senior Lauren Swan was named to the Southeast Conference second team. Swan finished the 2014 season leading the team in aces (38) and assists (325),  finished fourth on the team in kills (56), and fifth in digs (98). As heard on Wednesday’s PM Sports Page, Washington head volleyball coach Julliana Berg says Swan is deserving of the second team selection.

“She was such a fantastic player for me, not just on the court but off the court as well.” Berg said, “She just did everything so well. She encompassed all those things you want in a student and in an athlete.”

Senior Sydney Hoffman and junior Morgan Kimball were named honorable mention selections by the conference coaches. Hoffman led the Demons in blocks (15), and finished second on the team in kills (96). Kimball finished second on the team in aces (29), third in digs (124) and fourth in blocks (11).

Washington finished the 2014 season 6-23 overall, including a 1-7 conference record.
