The superintendent search continues for the Washington Community School District Tuesday with a closed session meeting of the school board. The board is evaluating the applications received for the position. Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen states 27 applications were received.

Late next month, an interview committee made up of teachers, community members, parents, and others will interview the top candidates for the post.

In September, Jorgensen announced his retirement. He has served as Washington’s superintendent for five years.
