The Iowa Attorney General’s Office is receiving complaints from individuals in southeast Iowa who have paid for services they didn’t receive. Bill Brauch is the director of the Consumer Protection Division of the Iowa Attorney General’s Office. According to Brauch, they’ve been notified that two businesses are accepting payments for constructing buildings in advance, then either don’t return or leave before the project is finished. He says one of the businesses is owned by Marvin Lawson, the other is owned by Jeremey Lawson. The claims range from $2,000 up to $24,000. While Brauch isn’t confirming they will bring the brothers to civil courts, he says this case is a priority.
