The Iowa Mennonite girls basketball team played well for three quarters Friday night in Wayland.IMS competed in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference contest against the WACO Warriors at Bob Hilmer Court.
WACO jumped out to a 24-5 first quarter lead, and cruised to a 57-41. IMS outscored WACO over the final three quarters 36-33.
Senior Riley Schmieder led IMS with 14 points, while senior Hannah Miller contributed 12 points in the loss.
WACO senior Aaliyah Brown had a game high 21 points, while senior Jalyssa Jepson added 12 points for the Warriors in the victory.
IMS returns to action Tuesday evening at Hillcrest Manor against the Highland Huskies.
