An ongoing “ice” methamphetamine distribution case led to the arrests of four people in Washington County this week. On Wednesday, 44-year-old James Paul Hubbell of Iowa City was arrested for two counts of conspiracy to distribute more than five grams of methamphetamine and one count of distribution of more than five grams of methamphetamine.

Also, 45-year-old Michael Andrew Joslin of Riverside was arrested on two counts of conspiracy to distribute more than five grams of methamphetamine. Hubbell and Joslin are both being held at the Washington County Jail on $130,000 bonds each. The pair faces class B felonies and each charge is punishable by a prison term of 25 years.

A Durant man also faces a felony charge; 40-year-old Joseph Emery Beverlin was arrested for one count of possession of methamphetamine and is being held on a $5,000 bond. Beverlin’s charge is a class D felony and is punishable by a prison term of five years.

The fourth subject arrested is 25-year-old Marissa Ann Villhauer of Riverside for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Villhauer is being held on a $1,000 bond and her charges are serious misdemeanors.

The case was investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the Johnson County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
