The Lone Tree Lion wrestling team squares off against two familiar opponents this evening. The Lions are holding a triangular dual meet this evening against the Wapello Indians and the WACO Warriors.

Lone Tree competed in their first dual meets of the season last week at Highland High School against the Huskies and the Van Buren Warriors. The Lions scored four falls, a decision, and three forfeits in a 39-24 over their conference rivals Highland. Lone Tree had five falls and a forefit in a 42-36 setback to Van Buren. The Warriors scored 30 of their 42 points due to the weight classes not being filled by the Lions.

Lone Tree wrestling coach John Osterhout says his team is ready for a pair of competitive meets tonight, “I anticipate both matches being close in terms of score.” Osterhout said, “I don’t see either one being lopsided.”

The varsity wrestling triangular is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Lone Tree High School.
