The Riverside Fire Department is planning to order a new truck before the end of the year. Representatives for the City of Riverside, the fire department and the townships the department serves will meet tonight to discuss how the $725,000 ladder truck will be paid for.

Riverside has committed $300,000, the Washington County Riverboat Foundation has awarded the department a $125,000 grant and some of the money needed will come from the Riverside Fire District.

According to Riverside City Administrator Rusty Rogerson, taking out a loan to purchase the truck is being considered. He says the city is prepared to cut a check for $200,000. The rest of the money will be available when the next fiscal year begins on July 1st.
