The Mid-Prairie boys basketball played conference opponent Cascade last night. It was a game heard on AM1380, FM102.5 and on KCIIradio.com. The Golden Hawks would struggle throughout the game and would lose with a score of 72-28.
Mid-Prairie couldn’t get off to a fast start like they wanted and were down 21-7 after the first quarter. The offense would score seven more points before halftime but not before Cascade would put up another 20 points to make the score 41-14 at half. Third quarter didn’t fare much better as Mid-Prairie would score just five points to the Cougars 22 points making the score at the end of the third 63-19. The Golden Hawks would score nine more points in the fourth to end the game with Cascade scoring nine as well.
Sophomore Caleb Statler for the second game in a row would led Mid-Prairie in points he had seven to finish the game. Sophomore Isaiahn Powell hit a couple of threes and would finish the game with six points. The Golden Hawks fall to (0-6 overall) in the season will look to get their first victory of the season when they travel to Camanche on Monday.
