The Mid-Prairie (2-2) girls’ basketball team is heading to West Liberty (2-3) in a River Valley South Conference showdown tonight. The Lady Hawks are coming off a loss last Tuesday to West Branch 47-28.

When Taylor Kurtz goes into double figures Mid-Prairie wins. This was shown in their wins over Washington and North Cedar. Last game Kurtz was limited to six points and no rebounds.

The Lady Hawks have been able to spread the scoring around with Alex Rath leading the team with 37 points so far this season, followed by Kurtz with 35 and Ali Butters with 25 points.

Mid-Prairie will need to find a way to slow down West Liberty’s junior Hailey Daufeldt in this game. In West Liberty’s last game against Wilton, Daufeldt had 26 points and 11 rebounds in a 62-44 victory.

You can catch the game tonight on KCII with the Washington Hy-Vee Pregame show starting at 5:45 p.m. on AM1380, FM102.5 and on KCIIradio.com.
