A tree decorated with scarves, hats and mittens is up in the foyer of the Washington Public Library. Director of the library, Debbie Stanton, explains this is the library’s annual “mitten tree.” The items on the tree are donated and are then given to those in the area that are in need through HACAP or the local police departments. Stanton adds it has been fun to see the tree’s decorations pile up. She says the children that receive the handmade items are very appreciative. For more information listen to today’s Washington Page.
