The new year starts in just three days and many people are considering resolutions. Sarah Smith, prevention specialist with MECCA Services, says she sees many people take this time to try to quit using tobacco products. She says there are resources for those who are trying to kick the habit, from insurance covered cessation services to Quit Line Iowa’s six-week nicotine replacement therapies.

Smith reminds those who are trying to quit using tobacco products to remember the four Ds – deep breathing, drinking water, doing something else, and delaying the use of the cigarette or tobacco product.
