It’s another busy week of athletic events for the Washington Demons.The Washington girls’ basketball team opens the week on Monday in a non-conference contest with the Williamsburg Raiders. The freshman game is set to tip off at 3 p.m., the junior-varsity at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity game at 6:15 p.m. The girls end the week with back to back games on Friday and Saturday night. The Demons travel to Fairfield Friday evening for their conference opener with Fairfield. The junior-varsity tips off at 6:15 p.m. and the varsity to follow the conclusion of the JV game. On Saturday, Washington welcomes in the West Branch Bears to town for a non-conference game. The junior varsity tips off at 4:45 p.m. with the girls’ varsity game to follow at 6:15 p.m.

Washington’s boys basketball team has a pair of games this week. On Tuesday, they travel to Muscatine for a matchup with the Muskies. The boys end their week Saturday evening in a non-conference tilt with the West Branch Bears at Washington High School. The junior varsity team opens up action at 3 p.m. with the boys varsity team not taking the floor until 8 p.m.

Washington’s wrestling team travels to Fairfield on Thursday evening for a conference meet against the Trojans. First matches take place at 6:30 p.m. at Fairfield High School. The junior varsity wrestling team will take part in a tournament Saturday morning in Keokuk. First events take place at 10 a.m. at Keokuk High School.

The Washington Archery Club competes in their season opening tournament this Saturday in Albia.

The Washington Bowling team opens up their season in Mount Pleasant in matches against West Central and the Panthers. First frames begin at 1 p.m. at the Iris Bowling Center in Mount Pleasant
