A father-daughter team has published their second collection of stories from World War II veterans from Southeast Iowa. Larry Cuddeback and Cheyenne Miller worked to gather the stories from area veterans and have printed the collection in “The Three of Hearts.” Cuddeback explains the title comes from his dad’s lucky playing card, which was handed to him before a major battle. His father was a paratrooper and before an engagement one of the men in his unit handed out the 52 cards from his deck and following the battle fewer than half were there.

Cuddeback explains the book is a collection of similar stories from World War II veterans and includes stories from the home front and letters from soldiers. In closing Cuddeback thanks those who shared their stories and those who served.
