Several KCII area basketball teams competed Tuesday evening and on the court, several conference clashes took center stage.

In girls’ basketball action:

Senior Aaliyah Brown scored a game-high 17 points, leading the WACO Warriors past rival Winfield-Mount Union 50-33. The win improves WACO to 5-2 overall, while the loss drops Winfield-Mount Union to 0-7.

Senior Kelsey Pretz dropped 31 points to help the Columbus Wildcats to a 45-32 victory over Wapello. The win improves Columbus to 5-2 this season.

Finally, the Keota Eagles edged their South Iowa Cedar Conference rivals the Sigourney Savages 50-48. The win improves Keota to 6-3 on the year, while Sigourney falls to 4-3 overall.

In boys’ basketball action:

The Iowa Mennonite School scored a season-low in points, in a 43-36 setback to Louisa-Muscatine. The loss drop IMS to 4-1 on the year.

Senior Chase Fink scored a season-high 34 points, helping the Columbus Wildcats earn their first victory of the season 65-40 over the Wapello Indians. The win improves Columbus to 1-4 overall.

Sophomore Brice Robinson had a game-high 14 points, assisting Winfield-Mount Union in a 49-42 victory over the WACO Warriors. The victory improves Winfield-Mount Union to 5-1 on the year. The setback drops WACO to 1-5 overall.

Lastly, the Sigourney Savages won their second game in as many days, dropping Keota 68-52. The Savages remain undefeated at 5-0, while Keota drops to 4-3.
