The WACO School Board will hold a discussion today dealing with their superintendent position. The topic is the only item on the agenda for the special board meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. The board decided to allow their sharing agreement with Winfield-Mt. Union to expire in late 2012. In February of 2013, the board hired Dr Darrell Smith on an interim basis. Smith had served as WACO Superintendent for six years before retiring in 2008. Smith says he’s planning to retire again after serving another two years as superintendent, so the board will be discussing their options for next school year at this evening’s meeting.
