The WACO boys basketball team after stumping off the gate have won two in a row (3-5) as they enter the 2015 portion of the basketball season.
Big part of success for the Warriors the past two games has been guys stepping on scoring and rebounds. Last game Senior Braydon Blake had 13 points last game, freshman B.J. Rogers had 11 points, and Duncan Pickard had nine points. Senior Tucker Janick and nine rebounds and Junior Bryce Achen had six.
WACO’s coach Bob Hillmer says even though this team has hit a bit of stride there is still work to be done, “We still offensively are not consistent enough, defensively we are getting better, but we still have a lot of work to do. There is a lot of teams we are going to be playing that have a lot of good shooters.” One good shooting team they will be playing against next is the Highland Huskies who are 7-1 and are averaging 58 points per game. The Warrior’s will play Highland on Tuesday January 6th in Wayland.
