The WACO School Board is considering their options for superintendent. Part-time superintendent Dr Darrell Smith has announced that he’ll be retiring when his contract ends in June. According to School Board President Tim Graber, they’re hoping to vote on how to move forward at their meeting on December 15th.

They discussed the matter at a special meeting held Wednesday. Graber says the options they went over include hiring another part-time superintendent, sharing the position with another district and creating a new position that would serve as superintendent and high school principal.

He adds Columbus has offered to enter into a sharing agreement. Washington School District is another possibility.
