The overnight temperatures in Washington this month have been nearly three degrees above normal at about 21 degrees according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures this weekend and into Monday are predicted to be above the 50 degree mark. According to meteorologist Rod Donovan with the National Weather Service in Des Moines these warm temperatures are due in part to a southwest flow. Donovan adds we are not likely to see record high temperatures but the lowest temperatures during the overnight are above normal.

While December has been warm, the year-to-date average temperature remains below the norm by about about three degrees at 47.6 degrees. Listen to KCII for your weather updates and forecasts.
